Oscilloscopes, AC Circuits, and GFCI (GFI) Circuit Breakers

A word to the wise—oscilloscopes generally connect your probe grounds to earth ground via the outlet they're plugged in to. That being said, if you plug your 'scope into a GFCI outlet and connect the probe to an AC circuit, the breaker will immediately trip. I get to run an extension cord to another room now.
