State of Andrews University Network Limits
Currently the per-switch-port limit is:
- 1000MB per day through webproxy.andrews.edu:3128
- 250MB per day without proxy.
(1024MB and 256MB may be used, but I don't generally bother to test that extensively.
Note that an IP address gets banned at the closest firewall for Large Downloading at some point. (After at least 1GB.)
I don't believe that there are per-switch-port limits on intranet connections.
Properly registered servers do not have to use the webproxy to access the internet, nor will they be blocked for high bandwidth usage. Please note that dynamic port forwarding is turned on in SSH on orion, and eowyn, so at least these servers may be used for bypassing the proxy or exceeding limits. In areas where switch port limits are in place, you should be blocked sometimes after midnight when you have exceeded the limit.
