What's Been Going On
k, so it's been a few months since I posted anything here. It's not that I haven't been doing anything interesting. At least it doesn't seem so anyway.
I'm currently working on creating software for controlling a DMX-512a lighting universe. I'm using a FTDI 22232C chip running the RS485 protocol. Their default driver actually does DMX ~almost~ "out of the box." I'm writing the software in Java and the driver bindings in C. Java actually keeps up just fine, even on my 1GHz PowerBook. I'm doing most of the testing on a Debian box and most of the development during boring classes on my laptop. I'll try and post more about this project later.
